Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
